Overview
Opencell builds laboratories designed specifically for biotech and life sciences start-ups — fully serviced BSL2+ spaces with access to specialist equipment, technical support, and flexible rental agreements, all located in London.

For their annual report, Opencell wanted a visual refresh that truly captured the spirit of their brand. Their identity originates from the shipping containers that housed their very first labs — a symbol of agility, modularity, and the start-up mindset. We developed a design system that uses the container form as a distinctive graphic device, framing content and imagery to reinforce this origin story.

To further emphasise Opencell’s entrepreneurial energy, we created imagery that brings the fast-paced, experimental nature of early-stage biotech to life. The result is an annual report that not only presents the year’s achievements but also communicates Opencell’s ethos: resourceful, innovative, and built for the next generation of scientific pioneers.
